note

Regarding VNFS 2.6 and 3.0 version kernels, and provisioning with PERCEUS 1.6 or 1.9:
The Perceus boot image from a Perceus 1.6 installation will probably only provision 2.6 kernel VNFS capsules. The Perceus boot image from a Perceus 1.9 installation will probably only provision 3.0 kernel VNFS capsules. Switching TFTP images between the Perceus versions is known to work for provisioning nodes with a different kernel requirement than the installed version of Perceus supports. You can get the TFTP images from the compiled source directory for either version.

PERCEUS port already in use error:
When starting the init.d script with this command:
# /etc/init.d/perceus start
There may be an error about a port already in use. If the PERCEUS daemons have not already been started previously and the command ran in error, there may be a dnsmasq conflict (such as with an existing libvirt setup) that can be resolved with the commands:
# killall dnsmasq
# killall dnsmasq
Really run the command twice, then attempt to start the PERCEUS daemons again.
